Raining down the Jersey Shore
Rained all day today. According to the weather forecast, the rain was supposed to taper off in the afternoon, but it didn't. So I targeted a bunch of quick geocaches (well, a few of them weren't so quick but they were still doable in the rain without getting too wet) and got 13 of them.
3 of the cache locations were in Asbury Park. With all those abandoned buildings, it looks rather like a ghost town. Oddly enough, the parking meters were all still there. So I parked at the first location. Got out and put a dime in the meter. When I turned the handle, the coin popped back out and the meter showed two and a half hours! Should've known that none of the parking meters work. Then a lady from the building told me that I didn't "have to put no money in there". (in those exact words) Okay, great.
Then I unfortunately contributed to the panhandling problem in nearby Neptune. At the time, I thought it would be interesting to give the panhandler a few Where's George dollars to see which booze store the next person says the bills came from. :) Upon further consideration, that was a bad idea because now he'll start bothering everyone more than ever.
Arrived at Brick and it was raining more heavily than ever, so I stopped at the Wawa store for a roast pork bowl. Carried on after that, getting as far as Manahawkin. Scored FTF on one of the two geocaches in that town, probably because the rain kept everyone else away. There was a cool FTF wooden nickel in that cache too. Then I went back North and only had time to do 1 of the 9 caches in the (Easter) Egg Trilogy. (Don't ask me how 9 caches make a trilogy. I think that series should be a ninelogy. :) )
Went back to Edison. As I was parking behind the restaurant, one guy got out of his car and asked me if I wanted to park in another space (pointing to the front of the restaurant) instead. He then said "Why don't you park there and I park here instead?" Seeing as how I was already backing in to this parking space, I told him I didn't see any difference either way. So I just parked where I was already in the process of parking. And even now, I still have no idea what he was trying to get at.
