Why I'm Not A Food Critic XVII

On my way to the Passaic geocache in Summit, I saw that the Parkway Northbound side was all jammed up with rush hour traffic. So I decided to take a look at the Short Hills Mall and get dinner there too. I figured the traffic would have dissipated by the time I was done. It's one of the more upscale malls in New Jersey so it's no wonder that I haven't been there in years. Still, it's interesting to go back once in a while to see what's new.

Dinner was at the Qdoba Mexican Grill. I don't think that was there the last time I went to the mall. They have typical Mexican fare with the tacos, nachos and burritos. All the ingredients are laid out at the counter so it doesn't take very much time to assemble an order. I had the three-cheese nachos with chopped sirloin and black beans. Once again, I made the mistake of getting the medium sauce. I should know by now that medium equals barely spicy enough to tell there's a sauce there. Nevertheless, the nachos were pretty good and served in a satisfyingly large portion. I also had the tortilla soup, which tasted like chicken soup with salsa in it. (Geez, I can make anything sound bad but it's a good soup stock with a zing to it. Really.)
