Long Island

Went to Long Island today. What's surprising is there was almost no snow left on the ground anywhere. Quite a difference from Westchester where the snow is hard packed in many places.

Cunningham Park #3 (New York)
Cunningham Park in Oakland Gardens, Queens.

What's HapPINing? (New York)
Firefighters Memorial Plaza in Valley Stream. Just a bit hard to find but not impossible.

Up and to the Left (New York)
Mill Pond in Bellmore. Ducks and swans abound.

LW-08 "I Would If Elwood!" (New York)
Elwood Park in Elwood. Tricky micro. Would have been hard to find under snow so it's a good thing there was none.

Mac-2 Hecksher (New York)
Hecksher State Park in East Islip.

JMB-28 Rattle Snake Creek (New York)
Rattle Snake Fishing Access in Oakdale. Very near parking. Could be a bit muddy but the ground was frozen today. Water weeds were visible through the clear waters of the stream.

Trout prison (New York)
Southaven County Park in Yaphank. Near an old trout hatchery, according to the cache description. Saw a plaque for the Daffodil Project along the way. It's a daffodil garden planted in memory of the 9/11 victims. Didn't see the actual garden though.
