North Jersey

Another roundup of some not-too-distant geocaches. It was a sunny day but a little breezy and not too hot so it was perfect. There was horrendous traffic on Interstate 280 so I bailed out to local roads. Good thing that part of the state is relatively grid-like.

Steeps over Greenbrook was the toughest of the day in terms of terrain because of the steep and rocky cliff. But I could have been a lot better about choosing the downhill approach because there are places to step down.

Time Tested By Who? (New Jersey)
Two-stage cache with the two stages in two parks that are pretty far apart. The first location is the Saddle River County Park in Rochelle Park. The second, a surprise.

Paradise Or Something Like It (New Jersey)
Richard W DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst. The Marsh Discovery Trail is an interesting trail through the marsh. It is a kind of plastic boardwalk the whole way.

Quick Cache Clime (New Jersey)
Montclair. This is a puzzle cache but I did the puzzle at home so I had the final coordinates.

Live Rust # 2 (New Jersey)
Hilltop Reservation in Caldwell. Parked on a residential street and entered that way as it was shorter.

Live Rust #1 (New Jersey)
Hilltop Reservation in Verona. Different parking area from the previous cache.

Wheel Of Fortune NJ (New Jersey)
West Orange. Another puzzle cache but I figured this one out at home too even though the clues were based on information at a set of locations.

Backlot Mini (New Jersey)
Morris Plains. Easy roadside cache. Met the scoobydooers there.

White Hot Cache! (New Jersey)
Watchung Reservation in Berkeley Heights. Nice walk along the white trail but the shortcut on an unmarked trail did make it a lot shorter.

"Steeps over Greenbrook" (New Jersey)
Watchung Reservation in Watchung. Very steep descent down a cliff and lots of loose rocks, although it depends on the approach taken.

Cripple Creek (New Jersey)
Rahway River Parkway in Springfield. A quiet fishing hole.
