South Jersey

Did 12 caches going down the Parkway side of the state. Used about $20.50 of gas! Something bad must have happened on Route 347 in Woodbine because the police closed off a long portion of the road and quite a number of emergency vehicles were going into the area. So that road closure cut two caches from my list but the important thing is to always plan more than I can do in one day because there is no way to tell in advance which caches might not be accessible.

Asbury Park 2 - Ocean Grove (New Jersey)
Beach cache in Ocean Grove.

Greetings...from Asbury Park N.J. Madame Maries (New Jersey)
Boardwalk cache in Asbury Park.

Cross Roads of Life - Which way too go? (New Jersey)
Allaire State Park in Farmingdale. It's a recurring thing but lots of cachers seem to go the wrong way. One day, someone should actually read the logs and figure out that the way that looks wrong is the correct way.

Greyflank's Second Cache (New Jersey)
Ocean County Park in Lakewood.

Down By The River (New Jersey)
Lakewood. Access is via a residential area but I have no idea what the place is.

Double Trouble Cranberry Bogs (New Jersey)
Double Trouble State Park in Bayville. Long walk and at the end, I had to wade across a creek.

Babcock Creek (New Jersey)
Babcock Creek in Mays Landing. Ruins of a chimney here.

What a dump! (New Jersey)
Former location of the Corbin City dump in Woodbine. Toughest part was figuring out how to get there and trusting that the topo map is still partly correct.

Star Gazer (New Jersey)
Belleplain State Forest in Woodbine.

OLD STAGE 8 OF THE 2003 CACHE HUNT (New Jersey)
Belleplain State Forest in Woodbine. Been here before so it's easy to find the trail. (Once I stop using the wrong roads, of course.)

The Mill Walk (New Jersey)
Beaver Swamp WMA in Cape May Court House. Short walk, scenic dam, many mosquitoes.

Big Holly, Little Cache (New Jersey)
John B. Townsend / Shoemaker Holly Picnic Area in Ocean View. This picnic area is located in the middle of the Garden State Parkway and according to the cache description, the Parkway was diverted slightly to preserve the old holly tree.
