As the name implies, this geocache is near the William Brien Shelter at the intersection of the Appalachian and Menomine Trails. It looked like it was going to rain as I was heading out but I packed a rain jacket and went anyway. And guess what? It didn't rain until I was done and driving home. Of course, impending-rain weather is the best for hiking. It was cool and windy. Not humid at all. Apart from its being a little dark in the woods, conditions were great.
The shelter is about a 2.7-mile round trip (no wonder my shoes keep breaking apart) from the Silvermine Lake parking area. Most of the walk is on a level path, with only the last stretch being a bit steep as it heads up the hill to the shelter. And the cache was just a bit more of a climb up above the shelter to a rocky peak.
