It's long... and also an island

Good weather today. No rain, not too hot and not humid. Since I didn't know about the wager, I just went around Long Island at a leisurely pace. However, I don't think I'd have gone any faster if I had known about the wager though. It's just more enjoyable when I spend more than 1 minute at each location. Anyway, I probably lingered a little too long because at two locations, the local residents came out of their houses to inquire as to what I was doing. And yes, I was indeed taking pictures of these flowers, whatever they are. What's the matter with these people anyway? Don't they see people coming from out of state to their cul-de-sac all the time to take pictures of the flowers?

At the end of the day, I was waiting behind someone making a turn at the junction. Then my hand slipped and -- HONK!! Oops! Now I'm just as bad as everyone else in the tri-state area. Darn.

Yancx's 9th Cache - Just Another WG$ Cache (New York)
Motts Pond in Valley Stream. Nice area but I saw some strings hanging down from the railing into the water and there were pieces of chicken at the end of those strings. I hear those are for feeding crabs, which is something I never knew anyone did like this.

Yancx's 8th Cache (New York)
Grant Park in Hewlett. Some baseball games in progress but no one cared about my sneaking around to the back.

Road to nowhere (New York)
West Hempstead. This is at a cul-de-sac in a residential area. I took some pictures of the flowers after I was done with the cache and then one of the residents came out to ask what I was taking pictures of. Well, they do have good flowers.

JAK-002 Lexi's Newsstand (New York)
Amityville. A quick cache. After I was done, I got some pictures of the dock and the inlet. And then one of the residents came out to ask why I was taking pictures of the dock and inlet. He says that area is his property or, to be more precise, it is jointly owned by a bunch of locals. Ugh.

Get Your School Supplies HERE!! (New York)
Verleye Park in Elwood. An easy cache that's full of stationery.

LWK-4 Hidden Ponds. (New York)
Hidden Pond Park in Smithtown. One of jbadger's caches.

RPA-46 Connetquot River SP - Madeleine Farm (New York)
Connetquot River State Park in Bohemia. This was the site of Madeleine Farm. What are now trails in the park were probably farm roads back then.

TOB Ceder Beach 2 (New York)
Cedar Beach in Mt Sinai.

M&M-23 Long Island Parrothead (New York)
Shoreham Beach in Shoreham.
