17 Miles from Nowhere

Reached a Where's George milestone yesterday: 25,000 hits!

Went to the Whispering Woods geocache in Cedar Grove today. It's on the opposite side of the reservoir from the Mills Reservation. I went into the woods by bushwhacking so I didn't know there was a trail until I saw the trail blazes a short distance in. Those didn't really help though. The trail was rough and indistinguishable from the rest of the forest floor because the whole place is covered in leaves. Nevertheless, it was an easy walk to the cache and I figured out where it would be from some distance away.

Went to the Wal-Mart in Central Valley this evening to see if they have the paw slippers. Nope, not yet. But they did have the spray disinfectant. Driving down the New York Thruway at night, I have to wonder how people don't fall asleep. In New Jersey, with the exception of the Turnpike, the highways have exits every one or two miles. On the NY Thruway at night, you have 17 miles of dark void between exits!

By accident, I discovered that the toll-free phone number for Capella University is one digit away from the number for a talk show. This still doesn't beat the CIA informant line, which apparently someone got by dialing some swear words. No, I'm not going to try that now. :)
