Returning Home from Virginia Beach

When I checked at around midnight, there hadn't been much snow at all. But in the morning, there was a bit of snow and ice that I had to scrape off the windshield of the car.

Started the drive home slowly in case the roads were icy. Road conditions weren't bad at all so I was surprised at the number of disabled vehicles I saw along the way. There were a number of cars that had spun off into the median and the ditch but none of those accidents resulted in any traffic delays. There was a particularly bad accident, involving a truck, a bus, and two cars, near the I-295/I-95 intersection North of Richmond. I saw only the top half of one of the cars so it looked like the accident was particularly serious and fatal. It could well be that all of those accidents happened pre-dawn before the VDOT salt treatment.

Made a stop in NoVa to visit armitige3, furrball, and James. I think it's strange that we've all been to the last three Anthrocons (well, for James, maybe just the last two) but haven't run into each other. Anyway, it was good to finally meet up. We went to a nearby Fuddruckers for lunch.

Made another stop at the Outlet Mall in Perryville to repair a geocache. On my way down, I saw that it was cracked, so on my way back up, I patched it with electrical tape.

And the last stop before home was at Wawa in Runnemede for gas and dinner. I tried their new roast pork entree, which wasn't bad at all.
