I wonder why the company is having these earlier and earlier every year. It used to be in January of the next year. Then they moved it back to the middle of December. Now it is in November?? I hate these... I always get into a bit of a tiff with management because they try to spread the blame for something that is mostly their problem. And I don't take that so easily.
Let's see what I have to write for this annual review...
List 5 major accomplishments/contributions
Why does management even need to ask? If they'd been on the ball and keeping up with things instead of sitting in their comfy chairs all day thinking up new ways to inconvenience all the developers, they would already know what everyone has been doing.
Overtime
What a joke. I don't even get paid for overtime. If I'm going to list all the times I've stayed an extra hour or two because a customer had a fit over something, the review would run several pages long.
Areas for Improvement
No need. I'm already perfect in every way. Muahaha! I am the very model of a modern Major General... etc, etc. :) And again, this is because they really don't keep up with everyone's work.
Suggestions/Complaints
I have 20 or 30 of those right here! As if they would even want to hear them.
When I got home, I saw a menu stuck to the door. Hey, it's a new Chinese takeout place: Montvale Chinese Cuisine. Hmm... that's a pretty low-key name. No evoking romantic images of dragons, enormous walls, pandas, bamboo or Hong Kong like the other takeout places. Anyway, I'm ordering from them this evening to give them a try.
NaNoWriMo update: 22,819 words. I've been backing up the work in progress on my DiskOnKey. Since it's hanging off my lanyard, I'm practically wearing my NanoNovel... hee!
