Okay, so I ordered from Montvale Chinese this evening. As I found out, they actually have their own domain, montvalechinese.com, but no website yet. It's just parked at GoDaddy now.
I called them from the parking lot at work and the food was ready for pickup when I got there. Service was okay, I thought. Pretty amicable. Got home and unpacked the brown bag. They forgot the eggroll. Okay, no big deal. I'll let them know the next time I go there.
The egg foo young had the dark sweet sauce instead of the brown savory sauce. Not my preferred style but I think that was okay. The fried rice was good too. Not the most inspired but perfectly adequate to fulfill the role of fried rice. The egg roll was... umm... nevermind. The hot and sour soup was somewhat of a disappointment. It was pretty weak... not hot and not sour enough.
As I mentioned, the eggroll wasn't that big of a deal. It probably happened because they are new at this business and haven't got everything down pat yet. I'll order something different the next time but I think I will wait a week or two before the next order to allow them time to get into gear.
NaNoWriMo update: 27,679 words. Added 4,860 words this evening. A bit more than the last two sessions. I'm also now over the halfway point so that calls for a chocolate and Pringles celebration. Yay! Oh, nearly time for bed already? Just out of curiosity I checked the Author Profiles at the NaNoWriMo website. Surprisingly, I have the second highest word count in New Jersey. Nationally, I'm somewhere in the top 200. Not too bad for someone who never wrote any fiction beyond two or three pages in his life.
