In this article, the author looks at Government stats on household income and expenditures. The households are divided into quintiles and average figures are given for each quintile. What's shocking is the conclusion that only the top quintile on average has anything left over after expenses and taxes. So how is everyone else making it? Credit cards? Home equity extraction? This can't go on forever.
I was given a port number by the web host, so I installed Instiki this evening. Wrote a few backend scripts to make administrative tasks easier. Then I added a bunch of frequently-used links to the main page. I'll be using that as a web browser home page. Now that that's done, it's time to get back to moving the other content over.
