Philcon Day 2

Went to the Reading Terminal Market for breakfast again. Not all the stores were open Saturday morning, so I had the egg foo young at the little Chinese place. The food was good and cheap, although it was a little disconcerting that they were arguing in the kitchen, which is line-of-sight from the counter.

Went back to the hotel and attended panels on cartoons, computer security, terrorism, longevity (implications of), commercializing space, and skepticism. So it was quite a mixed bag. Also went to the origami session and folded a bat and a dog's head following the moderator's instructions. (No cranes or frogs over at the advanced origami table. :) )

Dinner. And then back again to watch the masquerade. During the intermission, they screened a silent-movie-style adaptation of HP Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu." Snapped a few pictures of the costumers and then headed up to the room parties.

Funny thing is I thought I was on the "quiet" floor, but more than half of the parties (and the con suite) were on my floor and one party was only a few doors away! But that's okay. It's convenient. I think I'll return to the party with "space food" after this.
