The real reason I was there was because the local geocachers had a CITO event there last weekend. They placed a whole bunch of geocaches for the event. So I just took a long walk around to find five of those caches. Unfortunately, one of the caches was destroyed in a recent brush fire. Ironically, it was right at the edge of the fire. If it were a few feet from that spot, it would've been unharmed.
Dinner was at the Long John Silver's in Melville. The restroom was in good condition so what's not to love? They had tartar sauce but they were out of little cups to put it in, so I dispensed it directly onto the fish. Such extravagance. :)
Traffic was rather light. How do I know that? Well, I saw two accidents but neither one caused any traffic delay at all! Normally, any disturbance in traffic flow would cause a multi-mile delay but such was not the case this evening. Looks like $3 gas is forcing a number of people to stay home this weekend.
And lastly, the Nikon Coolpix 2000 broke! In truth, I knew this would happen sooner or later. The shutter hadn't been working for the last few weeks. (I had to open it by hand every time.) What I didn't know was how or when the camera would break. So it's time to get a new one. Let the comparison shopping begin!
