Went to Geo Jamboree 4 at Kettletown State Park in Southbury, CT today. It was a pretty well-attended geocaching event. I don't know how many people were there in total but there was quite a crowd.
After having lunch at the picnic area, I headed out with jbadger to do a bunch of geocaches in Kettletown. We followed the Pomperaug Trail mostly and went back by a different branch of the trail, running into many other groups of cachers along the way.
In addition to the geocaches I did at Kettletown, I also got one in Danbury on my way there and another one at a park and ride at night on my way back. The nightcache involved following a reflector trail in the woods to a small cache containing the coordinates to the final cache nearby. What's particularly interesting about this one is the whole wooded area was inside the I-84 Exit 11 interchange! So the reflector trail approach to this cache turned what would otherwise be a cache-and-dash in a 2-acre patch of woods into a substantial cache hunt.
Went home for dinner since there weren't too many options by the time I was done. Which was pretty late.
