Central Jersey and Bucks County

South Mountain Reservation - Trailhead

Hot. Melting. Frying. Dying. But even so, I got 15 caches.

Traffic was very slow on the Parkway and part of the Turnpike. I thought there was an accident but the delays turned out to be just a whole lot of people disregarding the $3 gas and heading down to the Jersey Shore.

First 6 stops were in NJ. Then I crossed over to PA. First thing that happened when I got onto US-13 on the PA side was I hit a large pothole. Fortunately, there didn't seem to be any tire damage. This must be the peak of the growing season as all the trails were overgrown with weeds and bushes. There were many places where I had to use a pair of scissors to clear the way. Didn't feel the effect of the hot weather until I arrived at the 13th cache site and felt like I had to sit down somewhere. So I took it slow after that and finished up soon after.

I still need to stop at a CVS some time to get NasalCease. Also, it appears that I'm now going to be kept awake by a malfunctioning smoke detector.
