Long Island Event

Went to the 2006 LIGO Summer Event today at Cathedral Pines County Park in Yaphank, NY.

An excellent day. Got 18 caches in total. (Four of them are new ones that weren't listed yet, so I'll log them later. The other one not in the list below is a traveling cache.) Hung out with Long Island geocachers at the picnic pavillion and had assorted foods. Also went geocaching around Cathedral Pines with a few Long Islanders, including jbadger. (whom I'll probably see again at tomorrow's event)

Had fried fish at the KFC/LJS in Baldwin on my way home. They were out of tartar sauce at the self-serve sauce dispensers, but the server got me all kinds of sauces in packets. So I tried them all. Fried fish in KFC hot sauce is not bad at all, but it's a little weird in ranch dressing.

The day was marred only by two incidences of rudeness from Long Island people. (not the geocachers at the picnic but some strangers I encountered before and after the picnic) At this time, I'm not too concerned about that. After all, I only go to Long Island every two or three weeks; they have to live with themselves all the time.
