Supermalls of Pain

Weird archways at Atlantic City beach

I probably should not have gone to Palisades Center tonight, but I had some time (That always leads to trouble :) ) so I did.

Paid the phone bill at the Sprint store. That went without a hitch.

Went to CompUSA and saw that Targus notebook backpacks were on sale. I always wanted one because what I'd been using was a notebook case and everyone knows that notebook cases contain notebook computers, so if you carry one, you're an easy mark for snatch thieves. On the other hand, it's not so obvious that a notebook backpack holds a notebook computer because it looks like a regular backpack. (Or at least it will once I remove the "Targus" brand. :) ) Okay, so I brought it to the cashier. I had a wide assortment of Where's George denominations on hand, including a $2 bill. But when the cashier saw the $2 bill, she took it to the supervisor to ask about it. Then she brought it back and told me that they can't take it. WTF? For a moment there, I thought it was going to be like the Taco Bell $2 story. But okay, I just gave the cashier two WG singles instead. They want to handle more WG bills? Not a problem with me!

Second problem: I went to Qdoba, intending to cash in on the 1000 points in my Q-card. I was about to use the card when the cashier told me that the Q-card reader was not working. Argh! Wasn't this the very first item in the complaint I sent to Qdoba? But never mind. I just walked out and went next door to...

... East Japanese Restaurant. I've been meaning to try this place for some time now. They have a neat system where the sushi goes around on a conveyor belt and you simply take what you want. (The plate color denotes the price.) So these were my choices. 7 kinds of sushi for around $10. Fair deal. As a bonus, the wasabi and pickled ginger are self-serve too, so that means unlimited pickled ginger! Nice.
