Woke up early this morning -- well, early for me anyway -- and went to the DMV in Oakland to renew my driver's license. As I mentioned in a previous entry, they now have a 6-point ID verification requirement. I brought a whole bunch of documents, but in the end, I used only 3 kinds of ID to satisfy the requirement. Fortunately, I was very early so there wasn't much of a line. And so, the whole process took only 15 minutes. Renewing my passport, on the other hand, is going to be a lot more trouble because I have to do that in the city.
I also picked up the photo prints that I ordered online the night before at the local CVS store. What's weird is they actually had two sets of prints waiting for me. Their explanation is they must have gotten the order twice because the system had a bad connection last night. Okay well, I only paid for one of the two sets, so it didn't matter to me.
Then I used one of the four Quiznos coupons that I had. I actually haven't been there in a while and it's nice to sit by the window and use the wi-fi network.
And now, it's sleeting outside.
Taking a look at jEdit, even though I'm unlikely to switch from Vim. I think the neat thing about jEdit is that you can write macros and plugins in Java. While the Vim macro language can do a lot, it is a pain to use for certain things. For instance, math, especially non-integer math, is not Vim's strong suit.
