My most speculative stock holding is a small-cap company based in Hong Kong. It manufactures jewelry and runs a chain of retail jewelry stores in China. You'd think it would've gotten slammed in the recent China meltdown, right? Well, it's up 150% year-to-date! *jaw-drop* Accordingly, I'm invoking sell discipline and taking some money off the table.
Aside from that, today was marked by lethargy. Traffic through Ramsey was very slow. The bank teller was slow. The coin-counting machine got stuck and had to be reset. The cashier at the supermarket was actually yawning while scanning the groceries. However, I did get out to Quiznos to use a coupon on a prime rib on garlic bread sub. I thought the garlic bread was a nice touch. I hope they'll have more sandwiches on garlic bread.
Consumerist used another of my photos in this article. It's a picture of the Home Depot store in Matamoras, PA. That's actually the view from a geocache located in the parking lot. Two things I noticed about the Consumerist pool: If the photo is chosen for an article, it gets a whole bunch of views. Sometimes a picture in the Consumerist pool will get a whole bunch of views even if it isn't chosen. It appears that this blog has quite a following.
