2nd day of the Kids Expo mascot gig. I opted not to stay overnight in the motel so I commuted to Poughkeepsie. Perhaps I should've gotten a motel room because it was raining heavily this morning. Remarkably though, I arrived significantly earlier this morning than yesterday morning because I'd figured out the best way to get there.
Because of the rain, the parade was canceled. So we did our gig inside the Mid-Hudson Civic Center the whole day. (except for two of us who ventured outside in spite of the rain. I didn't though.) The crowd was somewhat lighter because of the rain so it was a different atmosphere in the exhibit hall compared to yesterday's big crowd. We got to interact more with the people running the exhibit booths.
After the gig, we went to Coyote Grill. I had fish tacos. The day's adventures didn't end there, of course. When I was within a few miles of home, I saw that the river had overflowed because of the heavy rain and two roads that I could've used were closed. Fortunately, I knew of a third way to get home but even that was dicey because water was already starting to pool up there. Hope the Lake St. bridge hasn't washed away or things will be rather inconvenient for the next few weeks.
