Ramsey Ramble

Went for two new geocaches in Ramsey yesterday afternoon.
As I've noted before, Lake St., the shortest way to get from here to Ramsey, was closed earlier this month to put in some big pipes. The detour went through Saddle River on Allendale Road and was a much longer way to get to Ramsey. I noticed last week that Lake St. was open so I started using it again. Then yesterday, they closed Lake St. again. Argh! This time though, I followed a bunch of other people who seemed to know where they were going. Well, surprise, surprise! There is a shorter way to get around the road closure using a bunch of residential roads in Upper Saddle River. I should memorize that route and it probably won't hurt to print a one-page map to keep in the car.
Anyway... the first geocache, Splish Splash, was behind the municipal pool in Ramsey. This one was pretty simple except that the first parking lot was full and I went the difficult way around the fenced area from the second parking lot. Should've just taken a walk back by the road.
The second geocache, Scrooge McDuck's Treasure, went much more quickly. I merely parked in the quiet neighborhood and did a 700-foot walk to the obvious cache hiding spot and that was it. Got FTF on both caches.
