Had some errands planned in Park Ridge this evening but could only do two out of three of those because Motophoto closed earlier in the evening than I thought. However, I did get to use the free gas bonus from the credit card this evening. I ought to switch credit cards. There aren't enough conveniently-located Gulf gas stations around here where I can claim the free gas.
Then I went to Boston Market to use my business discount. (from work) The cashier informed me that the manager had taken it off the system, but he gave me the discount anyway. Which is very nice of him. So I had a chicken carver combo.
Also did a little scripting with the Flickr API this evening. I finally wrote a script to shuffle my photos into and out of views groups. (Those are Flickr groups where your photo has to have a views count within a certain range. I've joined about 30 of those at last count and I admin 5 of those.) I used to do that by hand but it was such a bother that I stopped for a while. It's so easy now that I wonder why I didn't write that script earlier. As in many other things in life, it takes a bit of time and effort now to save a lot of time and effort in the future. Unfortunately, that bit of time and effort can be hard to come by. As per policy, I'll use this script on my own for some time before posting the code in case there are serious bugs. Some older scripts are already up at
randomfox.Incidentally, there appears to be a bug in the Flickr API. If the script tries to add a photo to a group when it has already hit the posting limit, the flickr.groups.pools.add API call returns error code 96 (Invalid signature) instead of 5 (Photo limit reached). As a workaround, I changed the script to check for error 96. I suppose that would be a problem if the signature really was invalid, so I'll have to make sure that the signature is valid beforehand. :)
