Long Island

Rainy day, although it actually wasn't so bad. I brought an umbrella but I didn't need it most of the time. Went to Long Island. There actually weren't too many geocaches on my list but I didn't think I would do too many given the weather anyway.

Got questioned by a suspicious neighbor as soon as I parked on the side of a road for "RPA-4K Milestone Kings Park" in Kings Park. I hadn't even gone into the wooded area yet. He thought that anyone who's not from around there was going to break into his house. Unbelievable! I just told him that I was going to take a walk up that big obvious trail just across the road from his house. If he was nicer about it, I'd probably think nothing of it but his tone was accusatory and that was not nice. This does make me wonder about the crime rate in those Suffolk County neighborhoods. It seems I have to deal with the neighbors every other trip out to LI or so. If they're so paranoid about break-ins, maybe those neighborhoods aren't as safe as they seem on first glance.

Dinner was fried fish at LJS in Hicksville. I didn't think it was worth going to Flushing Chinatown because I'd have to pay for parking on Saturday.
