Central Jersey and the annoying mall kiosk phenomenon

36-50°F. Much warmer than yesterday. The weather forecast called for a 50% chance of rain but it never rained the whole day, although it was cloudy part of the time.

I went to Central Jersey again but this time, I went further south, to Matawan and Sayreville, to get a bunch of geocaches in parks that aren't on my usual routes. The highlight of the day was Capik Nature Preserve, where I picked up 4 geocaches on a walk around the lagoons. As I was about to leave Central Jersey, I checked the geocaching website and saw a new listing for a cache on the Rutgers campus. So I added that one to the list and it was an easy find, even in the dark.

After that, I went to Woodbridge Center Mall to add some cash to my account at the Sprint store. As soon as I entered the mall, I realized that it was a mistake to go there. I couldn't walk more than 50 feet without being approached by someone selling either cosmetics made from Dead Sea salts or those weird pillows. Some of the salespeople were pretty aggressive too. This physical analog to email spam turned this mall visit into an annoyance but I was curious about this phenomenon, so I did a bit of research and found this article: Illegal Israelis Lured to Mall Kiosks. Oh, so it is an illegal immigration / undocumented worker ring. Ugh.
