Is there anything in your family that has been passed down from generation to generation, or from family member to family member? What is it? And who do you plan to pass it on to?
I don't think I have anything that has been passed down more than a generation, aside from poor eyesight. :) In the early 20th century, my grandparents emigrated to the old country with hardly anything by way of possessions. They worked the tin mines, got tuberculosis, and led what most of us would consider today to be pretty tough lives. My parents worked their way through college and gradually built up a middle-class lifestyle. They didn't have any heirlooms from back in the day but I got some of their books.
