Went out at lunchtime to find Not Just A Pond in the Garrett Mountain Reservation in Paterson. This park has lots of stuff: dangerous cliffs, a lake, picnic areas, a radio transmission tower, a castle, a tank, an armored personnel carrier, and several geocaches. There was actually a pond at the cache location but it wasn't much to see. I went uphill both sides of the pond before going in for the cache. One side was pretty standard woods, if a little sparse what with all that bare rock. The other side... I don't know what's going on there. Lots of piles of dirt surrounding a piece of cleared land. Maybe they're building something. Then I climbed down the rock again to get to the cache and it was an easy find.
Took the car for an oil change in the evening, as planned. Watched some brink-of-war coverage on TV in the waiting room. The car was ready before 8pm so I missed the exact moment the deadline arrived but from what I hear, nothing happened at that time.
Then I went to check on The Wiz again. Yep, it's still closing down. The discount has increased to 15%. Not good enough. After that, I went to the Garden State Plaza. There was a fire alarm. I didn't think the mall was being attacked or anything but I took that as a cue to go home. Too few people take fire alarms seriously, I noticed.
