One of the things I did today was switch from a trial to a regular BJ's Wholesale membership. Although I've been skeptical about warehouse club shopping, I was swayed by two factors. First, they offered a $10 coupon if I renewed my membership. That actually is enough to make the membership fee worthwhile if I get milk, gasoline (only when their gas price is lower than Wawa), and a few items that I think I'll run out of in a few months. Second, I can cancel the membership at any time so there's my exit strategy if I get too ticked off at the smart-mouthed receipt checkers.
Of course, this may end up being a one-year club membership (just like last time when I joined BJ's for one year at their West Nyack, NY, location and didn't renew after that) because there won't be the same renewal deal next year. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
