Writer's Block: Star struck

Do you think celebrities deserve as much recognition, attention, and money as we, as a society, give them? What do you think it says about our cultural values?

They get what we give them. So if you don't think they deserve recognition, attention, or money then stop watching their movies/shows, stop listening to their music, and stop watching their games. Otherwise, don't complain because you were entertained fair and square.

Having heard and read about various celebrity scandals, I'd say we are either very forgiving or we don't give a damn. Doesn't matter if they have drug problems or extramarital affairs, or if they fight, steal, or cheat. As long as they can still sing or act, we'll be back for more. Heck, that's fodder for gossip columns. Bonus entertainment for the masses.
