Head of Turkey Lake
Turkey Lake area in the Northern part of Harriman State Park, NY. I'd previously been here for another cache a bit further up the lake but a revisit is always nice. Parked on the side of the road and went in to the picnic area, which is still under construction. Technically, I'm not sure it is okay to park by the side of the road as park rules prohibit parking except in designated areas. But no one's been ticketed yet. And besides, there does appear to be a gravel pullout there.
From the nascent picnic area, it was an easy walk along what appeared to be an old woods road. And then the cache was an easy find after looking around for a bit. I didn't think the GPS would work given all the rocks and hills in the area but it was okay. After that, I took some pictures of the lake. By the way, that's a natural lens flare, not a Photoshop filter. :)
Stopped by the White Castle in Nanuet after that to get dinner. The burgers are good but the milkshake isn't thick enough.
